Empowering Women and Children

India, a nation with a rich history spanning millennia, stands today as the world’s most populous country, having surpassed China with a population exceeding 1.4 billion. This rapid growth presents significant challenges in health, nutrition, education, public services, employment, and environmental sustainability.

A substantial portion of India’s population resides in rural areas, with many facing poverty and limited access to essential services. Despite progress, literacy rates have improved, yet disparities persist, particularly among women and children in marginalized communities.

Recent data indicates that child labor remains a pressing issue. In 2022, the Railway Protection Force launched a nationwide campaign that intercepted 183 children from human trafficking on trains and in railway stations. In Haryana, the police department removed 1,760 children from child labor, while the state’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit reunited 378 child trafficking victims with their families.

The exploitation of women and children in India’s sex industry continues to be a grave concern. The 2024 Trafficking in Persons Report highlights ongoing challenges, noting that the government does not fully meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking but is making significant efforts to do so.

At Little Roses Educational Trust, we understand that the foundation of a thriving society lies in the empowerment of its women and children. Through targeted programs and initiatives, we address the unique challenges faced by these vulnerable groups, creating pathways for independence, confidence, and success.
